Many people prefer using a mortgage broker today than they ever before. There are so many different types of mortgages and programs that most people turn to a mortgage broker for their guidance and expertese. A mortgage broker usually shops a loan at a variety of lending institutions while a loan officer at a bank can really only tell you what that paticular bank's programs and rates are.
